The Energy Proposal Manager supports the Energy Team by leading the development and delivery of high-quality proposals and responses to RFPs and RFQs for commercial solar, battery storage, and related energy projects. This role involves interpreting complex solicitation documents, coordinating inputs from multiple internal teams (engineering, estimating, procurement, construction, safety, leadership), and assembling compliant, polished proposal packages under tight deadlines. Additionally, the position provides operational and administrative support to the Energy Team, including scheduling, document management, contract coordination, and process improvement.

  • Proposal Manager / Bid Manager: These roles often represent the next step up from a Proposal Coordinator, involving greater responsibility for managing the entire proposal lifecycle, delegating tasks, editing responses, and ensuring timely submission

  • RFP Analyst: Focuses on analyzing requests for proposals and ensuring compliance with requirements, which complements the coordination and document management tasks of a Proposal Coordinator
    .
  • Project Coordinator / Project Manager: Since Proposal Coordinators act as project managers for the proposal process, roles in project coordination or management share similar skills in scheduling, task delegation, and cross-team communication
    .
  • Marketing Coordinator: In some organizations, marketing coordinators collaborate closely with proposal teams, especially in reviewing messaging and branding to ensure proposals align with company positioning
    .
  • Technical Writer / Proposal Writer: These roles focus on crafting the narrative and technical content of proposals, working closely with Proposal Coordinators who manage the overall process and document assembly
    .
  • Sales Support / Sales Operations: These roles often work alongside proposal teams to provide pricing, contract details, and customer insights, supporting the proposal development process

Key qualifications include:

  • 3-7 years' experience in energy and construction proposal work
  • Strong organizational, writing, and document assembly skills
  • Ability to understand technical and commercial project details
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related tools
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Self-starter with a collaborative and detail-oriented approach
